Conference: Ambassadors in Sneakers

Young people and experienced coordinators of international language and culture projects met at the workshop and networking conference “Ambassadors in Sneakers – Working with Foreign Students as Citizen Diplomats” from Thursday, March 7 to Saturday, March 9, 2013 in Stuttgart. The main focus of the conference lay with the following questions: How can concepts of “citizen diplomacy” and “global citizenship” be animated through projects concerned with intercultural and global learning? How can young people engage with their own and other cultures in a fascinating way? How can the importance of this exchange be conveyed? The Baden-Württemberg Stiftung, within the framework of the Baden-Württemberg-STIPENDIUM, and the German-American Institute Tübingen hosted this event. A list of the organizations and projects which attended the conference and further information about others who are also dedicated to the field of “citizen diplomacy” can be found below.
